I think most of us have asked ourselves that question when we were a kid.
It’s a good one and here’s why:
It pushes you to think about what you actually value and what you want.
And that’s important to know in any sphere of life, including business. So let’s translate this question into a valuable one for your business:
If you had one magic power, what would you love to do for your clients?
Think about it carefully and be specific. The answer will help you to:
- Identify a common challenge / problem for your clients and
- Devise specific strategies to develop that “magic power” in the real world
Example: I’m naturally drawn to identifying the deficiencies in a business and finding a way to laser focus the business to offer a unique solution for their customers/clients. However, one of the greatest challenges for me is dealing with the fear of change and tackling the (oftentimes) wrong beliefs clients have about their business.
So that desired “magic power” for me was being able to make people believe in me during the process. I’ve put together strategies to deal with that and it’s the first thing I do now. It makes the process easier, and it makes me much more effective.
